"From the bowels of Mother Earth rise the voices of our ancestors claiming decolonization"
call on all social, cultural and political to join us because what is at stake is more than the piece of land that we are defending, this conflict is a symbol of a new settlement. On the one hand, a social project for a few, no public cost, no wetlands and no history, that the real estate business called "progress" on the other hand, an inclusive proposal that takes into account all sectors of the population, argues the environment and the ecosystem itself of these latitudes and claims to the cultures that were wiped out by the European conquest in the late sixteenth century. The
latest developments in the land we stand in Dique Luján (Partido de Tigre) push us to mobilize to the seat of municipal government to demand that the authorities have the political will to resolve this conflict. We will soon also the Railway Infrastructure Administration (ADIF), the National Government.
On Tuesday October 19 trucks working for Opus Dei EIDICO-of-entered to fill Punta Querandí land, the land that contains archaeological remains of pre-existing cultures of the province of Buenos Aires. A member of the Movement in Defense of the Pacha, who stars in a camp site since February, was threatened with being beaten by one of the drivers who pulled the vehicle over. A day earlier, one of the principals of EIDICO, Juan Bosch, the campers said it was "impossible" that the company hand over the land. "We have another project designed for the site and a lot of money invested," he said.
Juan Bosch admitted having kicked the Apacheta, altar identifies indigenous sacred places and offering to Pachamama, a fact denounced last week. He said that was not his intention to hurt our feelings: "I kicked it bothered me the way" he apologized, said he was unaware his meaning and the gravity of his act, strange being that was presented as Salta and professor of history. Juan Bosch is not just any EIDICO executive is the one who signed as attorney for the corporation Muquebari ticket sale in April 2007 held in dispute.
Given these two situations, from the Movement for the Defence of Pacha in assembly resolved to prevent access to the site by truck to fill the premises. The decision was communicated to municipal officials Tigre and the charge of the work, Carlos Panzeri. The possibility of workplace violence is latent and depends on the municipality to avoid it, since the filling works must have the qualification thereof.
On Friday October 15 we met with the Secretary of Culture of Tigre, Daniel Farina, who expressed the will of Mayor Sergio Massa to solve the problem. When municipal officials will raise our requests: that the Municipality of Tigre representations to the Railway Infrastructure Administration (ADIF) for demarcation of a sale made in 2007, the share of Punta Querandí, Tigre. This would not make any economic cost and not yet deeded and one of the clauses of the bill of sale allows the municipality to claim a share for streets, squares and other public spaces.
The Municipality of Tigre must also ensure public access to these lands, which are located on the street across the Arroyo Garin Brazil. Currently crosses the creek via a bridge owned prefabricated Army. It is imperative for the authorities to another vehicular bridge, and that otherwise would be isolated and endangered two families with numerous children, one aged 94 years, members of the camp and all those who visit Punta Querandí and Villanueva Channel coast to fish and the whole family. We stress the educational value of these lands as they are visited by students, teachers and school boards, universities and all kinds of educational institutions cultural and Ingeniero Maschwitz, Dique Luján Buenos Aires and other locations.
The assembly of the Movement in Defense of the Pacha decided to move, together with all organizations who have joined us, the City of Tigre to demand solutions to Mayor Sergio Massa. The march is compounded by the accession of different social and cultural organizations that consider our just cause and worthy to accompany. Concentrate at 10 am in the Tigre train station to march to the municipal building located at Avenida Dogfish 1500.
Behind our claim is listed in the column for centuries neglected the voices that emerge in the province of Buenos Aires. The strength of the former leads us and guides us. We strive to uphold this public space as rebury the bodies of our ancestors were desecrated by archaeologists, who ask for your refund. We strive to maintain this sacred space with various cultural and educational activities. Bear this clear to businessmen and politicians: the decolonization of the country also plays from Tigre, and that force can no longer stop.
